Thursday June 1
AM kindergarten continued to learn about insects. Today we learned about the bumblebee. We read, Busy as a Bee and watched sci kids video busy bees. We did a guided drawing of a bee. Ask your child what they learned about bees.
PM Kindergarten learned about spiders. We read, "National Geographic Spiders" and watched sci kids "Don't Be Afraid of Spiders." We did a guided drawing of a spider. Ask your child what they learned about spiders.
AM kindergarten went outside and PM kindergarten went to music.
We played math games to practice adding numbers together.
If you received a pink volunteer form and you aren't volunteering, please return it to school. We had Ms. Woo and Ms. B in this morning as Mrs. Conley and Mrs. Mask were engaged in professional development with the new curriculum. There was just a miscommunication about the forms. Thank you !
Coulee School June 5-8
Kindergarten will be participating in land based learning in the Tuscany Coulee for the week of June 5-8. We will be walking back and forth to the coulee each day and will be outside everyday at school for the majority of Kindergarten time. We will be looking for parent volunteers to support us in this outdoor learning. All volunteers need to have a valid police clearance in order to be able to volunteer with us. Please see the sign up genius below if you are interested in volunteering.

What to know for Coulee school! Please dress your child to be outside for 2.5 hours each day. Good walking footwear is essential for these days to be successful, no flip flops or open toed shoes. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray at home prior to arriving at school. Please have your child wear a hat to protect them from the sun. All children need a small snack and a filled water bottle. We have no access to drinking water once we are in the coulee. Please pack a small "pocket sized" snack that your child can easily eat outside while we are on the go. Bearpaws, goldfish, granola bars are all good options. Please no fruit cups, yogurt tubes, etc. For this week if your child has a small backpack that would be easier for them to carry, please send that with their snack and water in it. We are trying to minimize the weight children are carrying.
If you have any questions about Coulee school, please email your child's teacher. We are looking forward to a fun filled week learning on the land!
