Monday February 13

We learned about the letter J and the sound it makes. We learned the jolly phonics letter J song and practiced printing the letter J in our printing books. We added 3 things that begin with J. Can you find items at home that start with J?

We read, "A Little Spot of Love " and talked about ways to show love. We  decorated valentines day bags for cards that we will be handing out tomorrow.

AM Kindergarten had music and gym. PM Kindergarten had gym.

PM Kindergarten played a math game today. We played bump, were we have to add up the sum of 2 dice and place a counter on the number board. If your partner gets the same number as you then you can "bump" their counter off the board.

Swim forms went home today. Please check your child's backpack and fill out the forms and return by Tuesday February 21. The pool requires forms two weeks in advance so we appreciate you sending the forms back in a timely manner. Thank you.

If you would like to volunteer and have a valid police clearance, please sign up using the following link Volunteer Sign Up as we need parents to join us to supervise on the bus and in the change rooms. Thank you!

Also if your child has never been to a pool to swim before, it would be a good opportunity to take your child prior to going as a class. They can get used to what the pool area looks like, how the water feels, how we get dressed and undressed after swimming, etc.

Upcoming dates:

Tuesday February 14 Valentines Day

NO school- Thursday and Friday - Professional Learning for Teachers

Valentine's Day

As part of our year-long focus on friendship and caring for others, the children are invited to bring a valentine for each person in their class on Tuesday February 14th. Please have your child print their name only on each valentine if they wish to participate. Please leave the "To" space blank, as it is easier for your child to hand out the Valentines to their friends. We ask that you do not send any treats with the valentines. Thank you for your cooperation. Feel free to wear pink, white, purple and red to celebrate the day.
