Thursday February 2
Today we read, "A Little Spot of Sadness" and talked about the blue zone of regulation. We talked about being an emotion detective and what sadness can look like. We talked about how to recognize when someone else is sad and ways we can help others and ourselves when we feel sad. We talked about different strategies and what works best for us to get us back into the green zone when we are feeling sad. We practiced a hand calming activity, where we picture a blue and green dot on the palm of our hands and make circles around them. In our head we count the circles while deep breathing. Ask your child what makes them feel better when they feel sad. What do they need to get back to feeling calm again.
We learned about the letter L and the sound it makes. We learned the jolly phonics letter L song and practiced printing the letter L in our printing books. We added 3 things that begin with L. Can you find items at home that start with L?
We had fun snack. If you are interested in purchasing fun snack you can visit https://healthyhunger.ca/
We ended our day with some centers.
