Thursday March 23
Today we continued to look at 3D shapes. We were looking at what shapes slide, stack and roll. We used ramps and tested all the objects. We then talked about items that only did one, two or all three. Ask your child what they observed.
We used all our senses today to pop popcorn. Ask your child how they used all 5 senses for this activity.
We read, " Frog on a Log" and practiced making rhyming words. We used alphabet dice (PM) and alphabet cards (AM) to make words that rhyme with the "og" word family.
AM Kindergarten went outside and PM Kindergarten has music with Mrs. Coulson.
PM Kindergarten brought home their certificate of participation cards from swimming, please check your child's backpack. AM Kindergarten will get their cards tomorrow.
Lion King Play - as a school we will be presenting the Lion King in May. Kindergarten will be involved in the show as members of the "Pride Land". Please watch your email for show dates and ticket information. As part of the production we are asking that every child bring in a ball cap that fits their child's head well, to use as part of their costume for our Lion King production in May. Please put your child's name on the inside of the hat. The hat will not to be returned in it's original condition. We will be turning the hats into animals, using fabric, felt and foam that is attached with glue guns. We are also asking if any family has a second ball cap that they could donate, it would be appreciated. Please send in the ball caps by April 10th so kids can start using it to create their costume for the production. Please note: all Kindergarten children will be asked to wear all black clothes (pants and shirt) for the show. If need be, clothing can be turned inside out so that it is solid black. Thank you so much for your help!
