Friday May 26
We started our morning by visiting Jessie Fiddler-Kiss. Jessie is a Métis Knowledge Keeper and is helping us make a set of drums for our school. We got to watch her start to make a drum and she talked about the what we use to make the drum.
We read ,"This Is How We Do It", it is a book about 7 children from around the world and shows about the daily life of the children. We looked at the similarities and differences between our lives and how others live. We drew self portraits with sharpies and then coloured them in with pencil crayon. We are going to be adding them to a community play center.
We read, "Maybe Something Beautiful" and talked about our own community. We made colourful communities in our visual journal. We used different patterned paper to create our homes and community. We will be creating a big class community for our dramatic play.
We went outside to play and had centers.
Have a great weekend.
