Today we watched 15 facts about Chickens and then used a chart to fill in what we learned. Our chart had chickens can, chickens have and chickens are.

Our eggs are now in lockdown which means we don't open the incubator until the chicks hatch. We are very hopeful we will see some chicks starting to hatch on Thursday.

AM kindergarten had gym and music. PM kindergarten went outside.

PM kindergarten read " If Kids Ruled The World" and we wrote and drew in our journals about what the world would look like if kids ruled. Ask your child what they drew.

PM Kindergarten played an add to ten game. Where you rolled the dice and then had to add the missing number to make 10. 


If you purchased tickets for the Lion King you will receive your tickets either the same day or the next. AM Kindergarten will get the tickets tomorrow for families that purchased today.  PM Kindergarten did get their tickets for any families that sent money today. Please check your child's backpack for the tickets.

Both AM and PM Kindergarten will be going on a field trip to Butterfield Acres  Friday June 16. We have slightly changed the schedule to accommodate both AM and PM groups ( to cut on costs we will have both groups go together so we can use 1 bus) That means both groups will have the field trip on Friday June 16th and there will be NO kindergarten on Friday June 23. 

We will require 7 volunteers per class. If you have a valid police clearance and can drive to the site please use the following link to sign up. (If you need to carpool, please email us )We will not have enough space on the bus for all our volunteers, we are asking that you drive yourself and meet us at the farm.

Today we had writing Wednesday. We wrote about our favourite animal and why. We copied from the board, "I like ______. It can_______. We are working on trying sound out beginning sounds (some learners are working on stretching out the word and using beginning, middle and end sounds).We continue to focus on drawing neatly, adding details, colouring in the lines and copying print from the board.  AM Kindergarten had music with Mrs. Coulson. Wednesday April 12

Today we had writing Wednesday. We read, "Helpers in my Community" and talked about who are the helpers we see in our community. We discussed what we would like to be when we grow up. Our learners drew a picture in their journal and wrote, "I am a ___". Ask your child what they want to be when they grow up. We did a rhyming activity with whiteboards. Our learners had to pick what words rhymed and print the word on their whiteboards.  We did math groups. Our learners broke into our math groups and worked on number activities. Monday November 28

Today was a great day at school.  We learned about the letter N. We read " The Nicest Newt" and had to find all the words that began with N. We learned the jolly phonics song for N and practiced the actions for all the letters we have been learning. (S, A, T, I, P, N) We practiced printing the letter N in our printing journals. The AM classes had gym and music.  Please ask your child what they did. PM class went to gym and did stations to practice skills such as catching, throwing, kicking and target practice.  We are very lucky to have some new centers to play with!  Thank you to the casino funds for allowing us to purchase the new toys.  The kinders loved playing the new cooperative game "Hoot Owl Hoot" and playing with the magnatiles.
