Tuesday May 30
Today we read, " I Love Bugs" and talked about the different bugs we know about and want to learn more about. We voted using counters to pick what bugs we would like to learn more about over the next couple of days. AM kindergarten voted to learn more about butterflies and bees. PM kindergarten voted to learn more about butterflies and spiders.
We looked at the ladybugs today and read, "Are You A Ladybug?" and talked about what we learned from the book. We did a guided drawing of a ladybug in our visual journals and painted them with watercolours. We wrote some interesting facts about ladybugs.
We learned about problem solving in math. We worked on a problem and learned to pick out the important information in the problem before we can solve the problem. We looked a solving the problem in a variety of ways.
PM Kindergarten had music with Mrs. Coulson
Coulee School June 5-8
Kindergarten will be participating in land based learning in the Tuscany Coulee for the week of June 5-8. We will be walking back and forth to the coulee each day and will be outside everyday at school for the majority of Kindergarten time. We will be looking for parent volunteers to support us in this outdoor learning. All volunteers need to have a valid police clearance in order to be able to volunteer with us. Please see the sign up genius below if you are interested in volunteering.

What to know for Coulee school! Please dress your child to be outside for 2.5 hours each day. Good walking footwear is essential for these days to be successful, no flip flops or open toed shoes. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray at home prior to arriving at school. Please have your child wear a hat to protect them from the sun. All children need a small snack and a filled water bottle. We have no access to drinking water once we are in the coulee. Please pack a small "pocket sized" snack that your child can easily eat outside while we are on the go. Bearpaws, goldfish, granola bars are all good options. Please no fruit cups, yogurt tubes, etc. For this week if your child has a small backpack that would be easier for them to carry, please send that with their snack and water in it. We are trying to minimize the weight children are carrying.
If you have any questions about Coulee school, please email your child's teacher. We are looking forward to a fun filled week learning on the land!
