                                                 Day 4 Coulee School

AM Kindergarten had a special visit from Shane Cunnigham. He taught us to go out into Mother Earth with open eyes, open ears, open mind and an open heart.

We got a chance to get to use the drums and did some drumming with Mrs. Coulson. We talked about how Jessie Fiddler-Kiss (A Metis Knowledge Keeper)  opened all the drums and put loose tobacco and a rock on the drums. She played her drum and the direction the tobacco moved is the direction of the drum. The directions share different teachings. The directions are North -Buffalo or Moose, East- Eagle, South-Wolf, West- Bear. Kindergarten then learned to play the deer song.

We walked over to the duck pond and read, " A Stone Sat Still ". We talked about something beautiful or interesting that spoke to each of us this week and then used watercolours to paint as we watched the goslings and the ducklings swim around.

A HUGE thank you to our volunteers this week, who came along with us in the intense heat!! It was greatly appreciated!!! :) Thank you!!
